Give to PNJ > In Memory of David Knights

David H. Knights, President of Preservation New Jersey's Board of Directors, passed away on September 24th.

David grew up in Georgetown, Massachusetts. He attended Phillips Andover Academy, Brown University (with a degree in Colonial American History) and Harvard Business School, and was a professional real estate consultant. David was a staunch supporter of both adaptive reuse and preservation; while living in New England, he helped renovate and develop brownstone buildings in the South End of Boston, and in New Jersey he was instrumental in restoring the Hopewell Railroad Station as well as preserving the land for Hopewell Park and St. Michael’s Farm Preserve. He also served as an elected representative and long-time President of Hopewell Borough Council for seventeen years and was also a Delaware & Raritan Canal Commissioner for ten years. David was a dedicated public servant, a generous friend, and he was devoted to his wife Linda and their three children.

The family has requested that donations be made to Preservation New Jersey and its 1867 Sanctuary restoration project.
