About the event
Join PNJ and the Milltown Historic Preservation Committee for a roundtable discussion on developing essential historic preservation documents. Participants will focus on creating historic preservation master plans, drafting ordinances, conducting intensive-level surveys, and preparing National Register (NR) nominations—key tools for effectively managing and preserving historic resources.
While this discussion will be a broad overview of various types of preservation planning tools, the program will cover the following examples:
General Overview of Historic Preservation Planning Documents: Participants would learn how to create comprehensive preservation plans, which provide a roadmap for safeguarding historical resources within a community. This includes identifying significant structures, areas, and landscapes, establishing goals for preservation, and outlining strategies for implementing those goals over time.
